The RM400 worth of total rebates is divided into three vouchers for different categories. Washing machines get the biggest chunk of the pie with a RM200 voucher for all applicable products, ranging from brands such as Electrolux to Toshiba and LG. There are some options that are even under RM600, which translates to washing machines just under RM400 when combined with the voucher. Jimat Air 4.0 is also offering RM150 rebates for water-efficient toilets, with the cheapest option available being RM550 before using the voucher. Finally, the programme is giving away a 50% voucher for water taps and shower heads, capped at RM50. The water taps currently being offered under the SPAN campaign are quite expensive, ranging from RM88 to RM315. On the other hand, there seem to be no shower heads with the Jimat 4.0 label as of writing. To receive the Jimat Air 4.0 vouchers, you will need to make sure that you are verified for Shopeepay, the platform’s e-wallet, by 19 March. The vouchers will be distributed to verified users on 23 March. This time around, the programme is allocating a total of RM100,000 for the rebates and the vouchers will be valid until 31 December 2023 or until they have been fully redeemed. Minister of Natural Resources, Environment, and Climate Change Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad stated that water-efficient products could help users save up to 50% of their water bills. He added that he hoped suppliers could market more of such products to allow consumers to have more choices. (Sources: Shopee, Bernama, SPAN/Facebook)
